Drexel's Department of Mathematics and Computer Science has established an endowed Teaching Assistant Award in memory of Al Herr, a distinguished and much-admired faculty member for over thirty years. It is awarded annually to a teaching assistant in the MCS Department. The first award was presented in the spring of 1997. Al's family gave a generous initial contribution to the award fund and we hope that Al's many friends, students, and colleagues will add to the fund so that this award will continue to be a worthy testament to Al's contributions to mathematics education.
