How to Create your own Home page

IMPORTANT: These instructions apply ONLY to people who have an account on queen (or king) through the MCS department.

For the purposes of illustration, suppose you are a graduate student in the MCS department named Margaret Thatcher, and your login name is gmthatch.

To create your own homepage, get into your account on queen and make a directory called public_html. Change the permission on public_html so that people can read it. Within public_html, create a file called index.html.

index.html is your home page! This is your URL:

http://www.mcs.drexel.edu/~gmthatch

Here's a suggested beginner's home page for Margaret Thatcher: when you have become a true Web-Mistress, you'll have something more creative. This goes in your file index.html, using whatever editor you're used to:
