Traditional Western Jesus?

How can we explain that the image in the heart of the Eagle Nebula seems to resemble a traditional western representation of Jesus?

Is this just the pattern that the viewer's mind imposes on a truly random cloud pattern? Is this a cosmic Rorschach Test? Look again...

Since I created this web page in November 1995, I have received emails from people around the world who found it both beautiful and disturbing.

But perhaps the most amazing thing is that while the majority of people see Jesus, others have reported seeing many different things.

For example, can you find...

• The Sphinx? (Or a baby lamb? The "Lamb of God?")
• Classical Greek statue of a Goddess (instead of Jesus?)
• Moses (as in the movie "The Ten Commandments")?
• The Buddha? Standing or in a Lotus Position?

It is as if each person sees the representation of "GOD" that they want to see!
