Q: What do I do if I have to miss a lab?
A: Assuming you have already read the entire syllabus, the first step is to immediately contact your section instructor. From there your instructor will handle your specific case. But in general, if the absence is for an excused reason, your instructor will arrange for you to attend the 6pm Monday make-up lab which is held during the odd weeks (the week after the labs are held) in Korman 110.

Q: Where/when can I go for help?
A: Check out the office hours calendar. Office hours are held in the Cyber Learning Center, which is University Crossings 147.

Q: What should I do or who should I contact first if I have a problem or question?
A: Here is the order of things to do. Most problems can be solved in steps 1-3.

  1. Read all the content on this website and blackboard, including the blackboard discussion board.
  2. Go to the blackboard site and post your problem/question to the discussion board.
  3. Email a friend in the class.
  4. Go to office hours in University Crossings 147.
  5. Email your section instructor.
  6. Email David Augenblick.
  7. Email Dr. Bruce Char.

Q: How do I submit a lab?
A: Go to blackboard ( Click on the class. Then click on the following: "Assignments" --> "Lab x" --> "Add attachments" --> browse to your lab file and attach it --> "Submit."

Q: How do I re-submit a lab?
A: It is not as simple as it could be. Click here for the explanation.

Q: Where do I get Maple 13?

Q: I'm having trouble installing Maple 13, what should I do?
A: Make sure you are following the directions exactly as given in the important_license_info.txt file that was in the folder with the installation file. or If you still have trouble after reading this, see the FAQ above about what to do if you have a problem.

Q: Are there classes the first week?
A: No! They start from the second week this term.

Q: What weeks do the classes meet?
A: 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10(proficiency exam).

Q: How many times per week do the classes meet?
A: Once every two weeks, for 1 hour and 50 minutes.
