Most of these drawings are processed from scans of the patent trial
microfilm.
Many are poor quality images.
The search for higher quality images is ongoing.
The drawings with an (SI) designation are processed from images retrieved
from the Smithsonian Institution web site.
In most cases, they are of substantially higher quality than the corresponding
images from the microfilm.
Note that drawings with numbers less than 100 were made during
the very early stages of the project and were often superceded
by later drawings.
