1998 Commencement
I was on hand for Drexel's Commencement Exercises on June 13,
1998. Armed with an Apple QuickTake 150 digital camera, I recorded
these pictures for posterity.
NOTE: If any of the pictures appear grainy with your

- TA's Extraordinaire Dorean Gibson Downing
and Shannon McGinnis (a.k.a. "The Red
X")
- Denise Humes Penterman and Marna
Mozeff, the first two winners of the
Albert J. Herr Teaching Assistant Award.
- A group of compatriots who hail from India including Vikas
Ramnani, Diwarkar Puthalapat, and Surabhi Vibhuti . I confess
that I do not remember the other gentleman's name!
- Seniors who were the lifeblood of the MCS Society this year,
including Steve Knott, Tim Cochrane, and Ken
Berger. Whoops, I missed another person's name! We will miss
all your petitions!
- MCS Seniors Lorrie Smith, Quentin Moore,
and Mani Shahidsales.
- MCS Senior Vladlena Galinskaya, an
excellent student and lab assistant.
- Graduate Teaching Assistant/Research Assistant/Star of
Philadelphia Inquirer article Santiago
Lombeyda.
- MCS TA Joe Zabaga and his evil twin,
Joseph Zabaga.
- MCS Professors Robert Busby and Chris
Rorres.
- If you have been an MCS student sometime in the 1990's, surely
you have interacted with Hoi-Man Chang,
seen here posing with a cardboard cutout of a generic professor.
Hoi-Man earned his BS in CS in 1996, and a dual MS in Math and CS
this year. We understand he wore out a lot of red pens as a TA.

- Dan Hunt was lucky enough to be
captured for a pose with President
Papadakis and CoAS Sweetheart (Associate Dean) Harri
Weinberg. Dan earned a dual BS in computer science and
computer engineering.
- Here's Vikas again with his mother
and (I think) some members of Surabhi's family. Ever wonder how he
got his reputation for hanging around with beautiful women?
