The main focus of this research is to investigate offloading processing intensive computations to a remote server with a particular focus on signal processing. As such we call this secure signal processing. We use Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE) as a method of choice.

Fully Homomorphic Encryption

Fully Homomorphic Encryption is defined as the ability to process data while in the encrypted domain using both addition and multiplication. The ability to perform addition and multiplication in the encrypted domain is an enabler for generating more complicated functions that can be processed in the encrypted domain.

We have developed an FHE implementation using the FHE scheme by Gentry, Sahai, and Water (2013). Our implementation enables processing for the basic operations of addition, multiplication, constant multiplication, and a NAND gate. We have extended the base implementation to perform additional types of computations as has been shown in the research. This includes significant binary processing and rational number processing.
